This course is assessed through a combination of written assignments, workplace observation, professional discussion, and submission of evidence. With this service, we  provide a qualified observer and mentor, with whom you can arrange 3 Site Visits to fulfil the workplace observation requirements in this course. These can be booked to fit around your working schedule and remove any barriers to access. 

The Course

The Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Health and Safety Leadership and Management advances the requirement for Graduate Membership (GradIOSH), and you will be eligible for Chartered Membership (CMIOSH) once your IPD is completed! This course is aimed at people who have responsibility within the region of developing and applying health and safety procedure day – to – day in an organisation.

Our qualification will:

• This qualification is suitable for both part-time learners in the workplace and full-time learners who are able to participate in formal work placements or part-time employment.

This qualification is competence-based, candidates must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units. Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.

Assessment

Learners must produce a portfolio of evidence and have access to a 9 months course duration to complete entirely at their own pace. This is unit based which demonstrates your overall achievement of all the learning outcomes and criteria for each unit. You must achieve a ‘pass’ for each unit which is performed by demonstrating evidence which manages to meet the assessment criteria. Assessment includes written assignments, workplace observation, and submission of evidence.

Awarding Body

We are an approved centre with ProQual, meaning we can offer approved qualifications through this OFQUAL-regulated, fully accredited awarding body. Working alongside ProQual, we aim to help learners achieve the best results. The Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Health and Safety Leadership and Management (RQF) is a recognised and fully-accredited qualification that can lead to IOSH membership. Completion of the whole qualification is a prerequisite for beginning the process of professional body membership.

Career Path

Upon completion of this course you can progress to:

• a Level 8 diploma
• Applying for an appropriate membership level with IOSH and/or IIRSM at Graduate/Full Member grade

The five units that all learners must complete to gain this qualification are:

Unit 1 – Risk-based safety management systems

Unit 2 – Safety culture, sustainability and the global effect on performance

Unit 3 – Digital technologies and incident investigation

Unit 4 – Development as a strategic manager

Unit 5 – Establish business risk management processes

Learners must meet the following entry requirements:

• This qualification is suitable for learners of 19 years of age and above.
• Learners must be in a voluntary or paid role within the sector.
• Learners must be able to demonstrate Maths and English at level 2
